The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI)’s annual international meet started in Dubai on Thursday. More than 800 delegates from various GCC countries attended the inaugural session of the two-day conference hosted by Dubai chapter of the Institute.
Held under the theme “World in 2011- A Year of Risk and Reward,” the conference discusses a number of contemporary issues including Economic environment in Middle East and North Africa region and , Investment in various asset categories – risks and rewards.
Apart from senior members of the institute based in the Gulf, the conference was also addressed by the ICAI President G Ramaswamy, Vice-President Jaydeep Shah, ICAI Dubai chairman Surendra Jain and other office-bearers also attended the event.
The ICAI is the second largest accounting body in the world and it has been given the onerous task of regulating the accountancy profession in India.
