Expert Panel to address Bank Branch Audit Related Queries for the Financial Year 2016-17

Dear Member,

It gives me great pleasure to inform you that after the release of the Guidance Note on Audit of Banks, 2017 edition for the benefit of the members carrying out Bank Branch Audits, the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board, like earlier years, has now also constituted an online Expert Panel for fast resolution of technical queries of the members carrying out Bank Branch Audits.

Members can mail their queries at The Expert Panel will address the queries from 1st April, 2017 till 15th April, 2017.

A detailed Announcement in this regard is also appearing on ICAI’s website To enable us to serve you better, you are also advised to:

  • Be brief but provide full information and facts.
  • Not to mention the name of the Bank or Branch or name of the Borrower or depositor to avoid problem of violation of client confidentiality requirements under the ICAI Code of Ethics.
  • Avoid rejoinders.
  • Not to send the same query twice.
  • Draft the report on your own.
  • Use own judgment.

At this juncture, I would also like to emphasise that the views expressed by the experts would be their personal views and not necessarily the views of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI).  In no case AASB, ICAI or the members of the Expert Panel, take any responsibility for actions taken by the querists based on such advice.
