The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has announced a significant change in the frequency of the Chartered Accountants Final Examination. Based on stakeholder feedback, the Council has decided that, from the May 2026 examination onwards, the CA Final exams will be conducted twice a year instead of the existing three attempts. Previously, candidates could appear in January, May, and September sessions; however, the revised structure limits attempts to May and November only. This decision aims to streamline the examination cycle and align it with stakeholder expectations. The change marks a shift in examination policy and will apply prospectively from May 2026. Candidates preparing for the CA Final course must now plan their attempts accordingly, considering the reduced frequency. The announcement reflects ICAI’s responsiveness to feedback while restructuring the exam schedule for better administrative and academic efficiency.
