The custom duty on petrol and diesel are 2.5% plus 10% social welfare surcharge w.e.f. 02.02.2021. The amount being collected by Centre as excise duty/cess for each litre of petrol and diesel as on 01.07.2021 is Rs. 32.90/litre and Rs. 31.80/litre respectively which is effective from 02.02.2021.
