KJ International Vs State of Punjab And Another (Punjab and Haryana High Court)

In KJ International vs State of Punjab & Another, the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed the writ petition challenging the order dated 26.08.2022, through which Input Tax Credit (ITC) of ₹56,18,263 was blocked by the tax authorities. The Court noted that subsequent to the issuance of show cause notices, final orders confirming the ITC demand were passed on 23.05.2023, and the petitioner had filed appeals with a 10% pre-deposit as required. Citing these developments, the Court set aside the impugned order and directed immediate unblocking of the ITC. The related civil miscellaneous application was dismissed as infructuous since the main case was already listed.
