Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, has issued Public Notice No. 9/2025-26-DGFT dated 10th June 2025, notifying a new Standard Input Output Norms (SION) entry under the ‘Chemical and Allied Product’ group (Product Code ‘A’). This update introduces SION A-3686 for the export product “Sodium Citrate.” As per the newly fixed norms, for every 1 kg of Sodium Citrate exported, up to 0.740 kg of Citric Acid Monohydrate is allowed to be imported duty-free. The notification is issued in accordance with paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, which empowers the DGFT to amend or establish SIONs as required. The primary purpose of this notification is to facilitate exporters of Sodium Citrate by standardizing the permissible input-output ratio under the Advance Authorization scheme, allowing for smoother processing of export incentives and clearances. The change is expected to assist the relevant chemical industry stakeholders in planning and applying for authorizations more efficiently. The notification has been signed by Ajay Bhadoo, Director General of Foreign Trade and Ex-officio Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

Subject: Fixation of one new Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) at SION A-3686 under ‘Chemical and Allied Product’ (Product Code `A’).
In exercise of the powers conferred under paragraph 1.03 of the Foreign Trade Policy-2023 as amended from time to time, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby notifies the new SION with Serial Number A-3686. This new entry shall be as under:
