Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) issued Notification No. 54/2024-25 on January 24, 2025, amending the import policy for Glufosinate Technical under HS Code 38089390. The amendment extends the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition for Glufosinate and its salts (with a purity of at least 95% w/w) for one year, from January 24, 2025, to January 23, 2026.
Under the revised policy, the import of Glufosinate and its salts with a CIF value below Rs. 1289 per kg is now “Restricted,” while imports with a CIF value of Rs. 1289 per kg or above remain “Free.” These changes aim to regulate the import of Glufosinate in compliance with the Insecticides Act, 1968. The policy will be reviewed after one year, as per the notification.
This amendment, issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, seeks to balance the interests of domestic industries and international trade while ensuring compliance with existing regulations.

Subject: Amendment in import Policy Condition of Glufosinate Technical covered under HS Code 38089390 of Chapter 38 of Schedule —I (Import Policy) of ITC (HS) 2022.
S.O. 444(E).—In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 and Section 5 of Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992, read with paragraph 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2023, as amended from time to time, and in partial modification of Notification No. 58/2023 dated 23.01.202 and Notification No. 14/2024-25 dated 03.06.2024, the Central Government hereby extends the Minimum Import Price (MIP) condition on the following ITC HS Code of Glufosinate Technical under Chapter 38 of the ITC (HS), 2022, Schedule -I (Import Policy) for a period of one year i.e. from 24.01.2025 to 23.01.2026, as under: (Changes made are indicated in bold letters):
