It is notified for general information that the SBI Home Finance Ltd., Nagaland House, 11 and 13, Shakespeare Sarani, Calcutta-700 071, have been approved by the Central Government as a Housing Finance Company for the purposes of section 36(1)(viii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961, for the assessment years 1996-97 to 1998-99.
2. The approval is subject to the condition that the company will conform to and comply with the provisions of section 36(1)(viii) of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
