Dated the 27th February,2019

To,

All Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax

Madam/ Sir,

Sub: Board’s office order no. 41 of 2019 dated 26.02.2019.

Kindly refer to the above.

2. In view of high pendency of B-1 to B-3 cases, the Principal Chief Commissioners of Income Tax (CCA) have been authorized by the Central Government to assign additional charges of vacant post of CsIT(A) under their jurisdiction to CsIT posted in their region for a period not exceeding 3 months or until further order, whichever is earlier to ensure speedy disposal of pending B1 to B-3 category of appeals before CsIT(A).

3. In this backdrop, I am directed to request that each Pr.CCIT shall pass necessary order with immediate effect for reassigning the vacant CIT(A) charges to the CsIT in DRP, Audit, I&CI etc to dispose of B1 to B3 cases only. If such charges do not have pendency of B1 to B3 cases, such cases may be redistributed from other CIT(A) charges for speedy disposal.

4. Urgent necessary action in this regard may be taken and a weekly update of the progress made in the matter may be sent to the Board on email cit.aj.cbdt@incometax.gov.in by 8th March, 2019.

5. This issues with approval of Member (A&J).

Yours faithfully

(Smriti Bharadwaj)
