Trade Notice No. 22

It has come to the notice of this Directorate that importers who apply for authorization for import of restricted items are submitting their applications at the concerned Regional Authority of DGFT without paying the application fee at the time of submission of application. At the same time, the application is submitted at DGFT HQrs at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi without mention of any fees paid. Subsequently, when these cases are approved, applicants submit their application at the Regional Authority along with the fee.

2. In this regard, it is stated that the application fee as prescribed in Appendix 2K of FTP 2015-20 is the processing fee and the importers are required to submit their applications at the Regional Authority along with the prescribed fee and simultaneously at DGFT(HQ).

3. The importers are hereby accordingly informed that application for grant of import license may only be deposited at the RA’s office, after paying the applicable fees. Further while submitting their application in DGFT if they do not attach copy of the fee paid, their application will not be processed and no import authorization will be issued.
