Department has released the offline utility for filing of Service Tax Return (ST-3) on 31.07.2013 for the period 1st October, 2012 to 31st March, 2013. At the time of release of offline utility department has announced that online version of Service Tax return (ST 3) will be made available shortly. But even after 20 days of release of offline utility department is yet to release online Service Tax return (ST 3) utility. It is also to be noted that last date to file Service Tax return (ST 3) for the period 1st October, 2012 to 31st March, 2013 is 31st August 2013.
It seems delay in release of Online Service Tax return (ST 3) for the period 1st October, 2012 to 31st March, 2013 will result in extension of due date for filing of Service Tax return (ST 3) for the period 1st October, 2012 to 31st March, 2013.

the extention of service tax may be extended upto 31st Oct, 2013, in respect of filing of service tax returns for the half year ended 31st MArch 2013, it is only my request
AS YOU HAVE AN OPTION FOR FILING THE RETURNS OFFLINE AND UTILITY IS ALSO MADE AVAILABLE BY WHICH YOU CAN FILE A RETURN THAN THERE MIGHT BE NO NEED OF EXTENDING THE DATE. MOREOVER FOR EARLIER RETURNS ALSO AFTER UPLOADING THEY SAID PLEASE CHECK THE STATUS AFTER ONE BUSINESS DAY TO WHICH ITS ACKNOWLEDGEMENT WAS MADE AVAILABLE AFTER NEARLY 2 MONTHS.
SO IF ITS LATE BY YOUR SIDE YOU ARE LIABLE TO BE PENALISED BUT IF ITS FROM DEPARTMENT THAN ITS OK.
SAME OPTION FOLLOWS HERE IF YOU DONT HAVE ONLINE OPTION SO WHAT AS YOU ARE HAVING AN OFFLINE OPTION, IF YOU FAIL TO UPLOAD A RETURN THAN YOU ARE THE PERSON TO BE THE CULPRIT NOT HE DEPARTMENT

I am already file ST-3 return for the period of october-2012 to march-2013 and system shows status for return is filled (system is accepted return for said period) only it was not show st-3 return.

Dear Sir,
The Dept has since released the Offline Utility and the same is avilable in ‘Downlods’on Dept Website and I understand that the last date to file is 31st Aug.
