PUBLIC NOTICE NO.19   (RE-2001)/1997-2002

NEW DELHI,  THE   11th June,2001

In exercise of the powers conferred under Pargraph 4.11& 11.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, (incorporating amendments made upto 31.03.2001) , the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby lays down following procedures for export of ‘certified organic products’:-

An agricultural product will be allowed to be exported as “ Organic Product” only if it is produced, processed or packed under a valid Organic Certificate issued by a certifying agency duly accredited  by one of the following Accreditation Agencies:

(i) Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA)

(ii) Coffee Board

(iii) Spices Board

(iv) Tea Board.

2. This will be effective from Ist July,2001.

3. This issues in Public interest.
