NEW DELHI, Dated: 5th March, 2007

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992) read with paragraph 1.3 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09 as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby amend first two sub-paragraphs of 3.6.2 of Foreign Trade Policy (2004-2009) to reads as under: –

“Software exporters shall register themselves with Electronic and Software Export Promotion Council. An exclusive Services Export Promotion Council for has been set up to give proper direction, guidance and encouragement to selected Services Sector. Exporters of 13 specific services as listed in Sl No. 34 of Appendix-2 of Handbook of Procedure (Volume -I) are required to register themselves with the Services Export Promotion Council. Other service exporters shall register themselves with Federation of Indian Exporters Organisation.”

This issues in the public interest.
