Notification No. 19/2002-2007, issued on November 18, 2002, by the Government of India, updates the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007. The amendment adds two new entries to Appendix III of Schedule 1 (Imports). The first is related to “Clinical Thermometers: Part 1, Solid Stem Type (Second Revision)” under IS 3055(Part 1): 1994, and the second pertains to “Clinical Thermometers: Part 2, Enclosed Scale Type (First Revision)” under IS 3055(Part 2): 1988. These additions specify the applicable Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for clinical thermometers, aiming to regulate and standardize the import of these medical products.

S.O (E) – In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007, published on 31st March, 2002 as amended from time to time, namely-

2. The following shall be added at the end of Appendix III to Schedule 1 (IMPORTS) of ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 2002-2007:
