NOTIFICATION NO. 31(RE-2000) 1997-2002
NEW DELHI , 24 August , 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by the Section 5 of the Foreign Trade ( Development & Regulation ) Act, 1992 ( No. 22 of 1992 ) read with Paragraph 1.3 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002(incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.2000), the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002(incorporating amendment made upto 31.3.2000) .
The following additions shall be made against the entry at ITC(HS) Code No.0703(1) relating to onions of all varieties (other than Bangalore Rose onion and Krishnapuram Onions )under the column, ‘ nature of restriction’ in “ITC(HS) Classification of Import and Export items 1997-2002 incorporating amendments made upto 31st August, 1998 in Schedule 2 table B in continuation of Notification No.30 (RE-2000)/1997-2000, dt. 7th August ,2000 .
“Further, another 1 lakh M. Tonnes of onions is allowed for export through the following agencies as indicated below:-
NAFED 50,000 M. Tonnes
MSAMB 20,000 M. Tonnes.
GAIC 15,000 M. Tonnes.
AP MARKFED 5,000 M. Tonnes.
STCL 5,000 M. Tonnes.
NCCF 5,000 M. Tonnes.
These agencies shall export directly or through the Registered Exporters on the same terms and conditions as laid down in earlier Notification No.16 (RE-2000) 1997-2002, dt.17th May,2000.
The quantity of onions released shall be exported before 31st Oct.,2000.”
