The Government of India, through Notification No. 29/1997-2002 dated October 1, 1999, issued amendments to the Export Policy under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992. These changes, made under the Export and Import Policy of 1997-2002, include revisions to Table B of Schedule 2 regarding petroleum products. For Code No. 2710, items such as Aviation Turbine Fuel, High-Speed Diesel, and Motor Spirit are designated as “Free” for export, subject to the registration of export contracts with the Office of the Chief Controller (OCC). Additionally, a significant change was made to Code No. 0001 in Table A of Schedule 2, which now explicitly prohibits the export of all forms of wild animals, including their parts and products, marking them as “Prohibited” with no exceptions. These amendments aim to streamline export procedures for petroleum products and reinforce restrictions on wildlife trade. The notification was issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade in the public interest.
