The Government of India, through Public Notice No. 56 (RE-98)/97-02, issued on November 13, 1998, amended the Handbook of Procedures, 1997-2002, Vol. I, under the powers conferred by Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002. The amendment specifically removes the phrase “All types of plastic wastes/scrap (except PET bottle waste/scrap)” from Paragraph 5.3(b) of the Handbook. This change reflects an update to the regulations governing the export and import of certain materials, aligning with policy adjustments aimed at managing waste and scrap materials more effectively. The amendment is part of ongoing revisions to the Export and Import Policy for 1997-2002.
