Acetate tow and Filter Rod – Exemption from Prohibition – Amendment to Notification No. 16/2011 Custom NT, Dated: 1.3.2011

Notification No. 20/2012-Customs (N.T.)

G.S.R (E). – In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 16/2011-Customs (N. T.), dated, the 1st March,2011, published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R. 155 (E), dated the 1st March,2011, namely:-

In the said notification, in the Table, against S. No. 2,-

(i) for the entry in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“Filter rod of a kind used in the manufacture of cigarettes or bidis”;

(ii) for the entry in column (4), the following shall be substituted, namely:-

“Filter cigarettes or bidis”.

Note.- The principal notification No.16/2011-Customs(N.T) dated the 1st March, 2011 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i),vide number G.S.R-155-(E), dated the 1st March, 2011 and was last amended vide notification No.56/2011-Customs(N.T) dated the 2nd August, 2011 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary,Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i),vide number G.S.R-596 (E), dated the 2nd August, 2011.
