As you are kindly aware that creation of employment opportunities to members of ICAI in industry, enhancing knowledge and skill sets and recognition of exemplary work of such Members in Industry are the primary goals of the Committee for Members in Industry of ICAI. The Committee continuously endeavors to provide value added services, upgrade its services by figuring out the various initiatives that can be taken to reinforce the placement services provided to the members in Industry.
To attract new organisations to participate in the various Campus Placement Programmes, the Committee has been regularly carrying out the full fledged marketing exercise amongst the various organisations of repute. During this project it has been found that there is a practice of recruiting and placing the Chartered Accountants primarily in the Accounts and Finance related areas in an organisation which we believe is perhaps due to the perception that Chartered Accountants are specialised in carrying out the Accounts and Finance Functions only. We wish to change this perception by showcasing the CAs serving in non-conventional areas as well.
We have come across various instances in the corporate world, where the CAs have proven their mettle in other functional areas/fronts apart from hard core Finance and/or Accounting Functions.
It is our sincere hope that being a Member of the Institute working in the Industry you might possess a complete understanding about the contribution of CAs in Non Conventional (Non Core) Areas for CAs in an organisation. If you are performing such role in your organisation we request you to kindly intimate us your current position and credentials especially in the following areas:
1)Marketing
2)Production
3)Project Development& Management
4)Human Resources including Training and Development Dept
5)Any other area(with details)
We seek to utilise your valuable experience for the benefit of Chartered Accountants by publishing the same along with your photograph in the following publications of the Institute:
a) Brochure for the Campus Placement Programme
b) Websites of ICAI
c) CA Journal etc
Needless to mention that your experiences in the non-conventional areas and opinions in regard to the same (how CA qualification has enabled you to achieve such contribution) will enable us to explore newer dimensions for the placement of Chartered Accountants in Non -Conventional Areas also.
