Notification No. S.O. 62/2010-Income Tax In exercise of the powers conferred in sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 120 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), the Central Board of Direct Taxes hereby makes the following amendments to the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, Central Board of Direct Taxes number S.O. 732(E) dated 3rd July, 2001, namely:-
Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today assured the states that the Centre will fully compensate them on possible losses arising from implementation of the goods and services tax (GST) regime. “No state would be allowed to suffer any loss and would be fully compensated by the Central government,” he said at a meeting of the National Development Council here today, attended by most of the state chief ministers.

Wage Limit increased from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 for coverage of an employee under the ESIC Act:- The Government of India through notification in the Official Gazette has amended the Employees’ State Insurance (Central) Rules, 1950. Accordingly, as per rule 50, the wage limit for coverage of an employee under Employees State Insurance Act has been enhanced from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 with effect from 1st May 2010.
