The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) issued a public notice regarding a fraudulent website, https://policyholdergov.org, that is masquerading as the official IRDAI Consumer Education Website, https://policyholder.gov.in. The fraudulent site is illegally using official emblems of IRDAI and other government bodies. IRDAI explicitly clarified that it does not collect premiums, facilitate claim settlements, or handle any financial transactions on its websites, which exist solely to provide authentic information on insurance awareness and grievance redressal. The public is strongly advised to avoid accessing the fraudulent website and to only use the official IRDAI portals, https://policyholder.gov.in and https://irdai.gov.in, for verified information. The matter has been escalated to relevant authorities for action.
