The Central Vigilance Commission disposed of 830 cases during October 2010 referred to it for advice. Of these, 573 complaints were sent for necessary action/ATR whereas 48 complaints were sent for investigation and report. No action was required on 108 complaints.

The Commission advised imposition of major penalty against 71 officers including 12 from Department of Telecommunications, 10 from State Bank of India, 6 each from Canara Bank, Department of Steel and Central Board of Excise & Customs, 4 each from New Delhi Municipal Corporation, and SPMCIL. Remaining 23 cases pertained to different departments of the Government of India and PSUs.

Recoveries to the tune of about Rs.1.61 crore were effected after Commission conducted technical examination of some departments.
