Fire at Income Tax office – Aayakar Bhavan, Mumbai

A fire broke out at the 6th floor of Aayakar Bhavan, Income-Tax office, at New Marine Lines on Thursday night. A source said that the fire broke out in staff room where several sensitive files stored.  

Ten fire engines have been rushed to the spot, fire brigade sources said. The officials also said that fire spread to the adjoining staff room.The building, called ‘Aayakar Bhavan’, houses office of the Commissioner of the Income Tax.

Efforts are on to bring the fire under control.

The fire call was received at 10.20 pm. There are no reports of casualties so far, the sources said.
