CBI ARRESTS AN INCOME TAX INSPECTOR AND ANOTHER OFFICIAL IN SEPARATE CASES OF BRIBERY
The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Income Tax Inspector and an Archivist -in-Charge of National Archives of India in separate cases of bribery.
A case was registered against an Inspector of Income Tax (Circle-III), Gaya for demanding a bribe of Rs.15,000/-from the Complainant.
The complainant alleged that the accused had demanded a bribe of Rs.15,000/- for facilitating the refund due to him. CBI laid a trap and the accused was arrested while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant.
In another case, CBI has arrested an Archivist-in-Charge of National Archives of India, Record Centre, Jaipur for demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the Complainant. The Complainant had alleged that the accused demanded bribe for tracing the old documents and providing certified copies of the same to him(Complainant). Around 6 months back, the complainant had applied to the National Archives of India, Record Centre, Jaipur for obtaining certified copies of the certain old documents pertaining to a plot of land in Rajkot. The accused himself came to Rajkot to deliver the said certified copies and to receive the bribe amount.
CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding & accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000/- from the complainant.
