The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Deputy Manager (Small and Medium Enterprises Cash Credit Centre), State Bank of India, Main Branch, Patna for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant.

The complainant, a resident of Kankarbagh, Patna had applied for a loan of Rs.25,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Lacs) for installation of Rice Polishing Plant under Prime Minister Employment Guarantee Programme (PMEGP). For processing favourably of said loan, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs.1.20 lacs from the complainant and the matter was negotiated through a middleman for Rs.30,000/- as first installment of bribe. The complainant approached CBI. CBI laid a trap and the accused was arrested for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.30,000/- from the complainant.

The accused was produced before the Designated Court at Patna and remanded to Judicial Custody.
