Mphasis Limited, a prominent global technology solutions provider, has announced the official validation of its near-term and net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Services. This development marks a significant step in Mphasis’ ongoing commitment to addressing climate change through science-based emissions reduction strategies.

The company has set ambitious goals to reduce emissions across its operations and value chain, with the fiscal year 2024-25 as the baseline. The targets encompass Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, as well as Scope 3 emissions across various activities within its value chain. Mphasis aims to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by the fiscal year 2050. In the near term, it plans to reduce absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 66.01% by FY 2036 from the FY 2025 baseline and cut Scope 3 emissions by 66.33% per USD value added within the same timeframe.

In the long term, Mphasis has committed to reducing absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 90% by FY 2050 from the FY 2025 baseline and decreasing Scope 3 emissions by 97% per unit value added. These targets are part of the company’s broader strategy to embed environmental responsibility into its operations and build capabilities aligned with its long-term climate commitments.

Deepa Nagraj, Senior Vice President & Global Head – ESG at Mphasis, highlighted the importance of collective commitment to climate action, stating that the validation by SBTi Services is a crucial milestone in the company’s sustainability journey. Mphasis is also pursuing carbon neutrality across its facilities and operations by FY 2030, with renewable energy already accounting for 57.82% of its total energy consumption.

The company’s sustainability efforts have garnered external recognition, including a Silver Medal from EcoVadis, placing it among the top 15% of assessed companies, and an improved CRISIL Core ESG score of 73 in FY 2026. As Mphasis continues to strengthen its environmental, social, and governance practices, analysts will be watching closely to see how these initiatives impact its business operations and market performance in the long term.
