Yes Bank Limited has reported a robust 65% year-on-year increase in net profit for the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27, reaching INR 1,080 crore. The bank’s performance for the quarter ended September 30, 2026, was bolstered by substantial growth in core operating income and an improvement in asset quality, as outlined in the bank’s financial results released on October 17, 2026.

The bank’s operating profit grew by 29.4% year-on-year to INR 1,678 crore, driven by a 22.7% rise in net interest income (NII), which amounted to INR 2,822 crore. Additionally, non-interest income increased by 14.4% to INR 1,882 crore. The cost-to-income ratio improved to 64.3% from 67.1% in the same quarter the previous year, reflecting enhanced operational efficiency.

Yes Bank’s balance sheet also demonstrated significant growth, with total deposits rising by 19.5% year-on-year to INR 3,54,004 crore. Advances grew by 23.7% to INR 3,09,510 crore, with retail assets disbursements increasing by 35% year-on-year. The bank’s asset quality showed improvement, with the gross non-performing asset (GNPA) ratio declining to 1.2% from 1.6% a year ago, while the net non-performing asset (NNPA) ratio stood at 0.2%.

The bank’s capital adequacy remained strong, with the Common Equity Tier I (CET I) ratio at 13.7%. The liquidity coverage ratio (LCR) averaged a healthy 131.4% for the quarter. The bank also noted that the Supreme Court’s recent judgment on the write-down of its Additional Tier 1 Bonds, aggregating to INR 8,415 crore, is under review, and any implications will be assessed in due course.

Analysts have noted Yes Bank’s steady performance and its ability to maintain asset quality amid challenging market conditions. The bank’s focus on retail and branch-led deposits, along with its strategic initiatives, has supported its growth trajectory. As the bank continues to navigate regulatory landscapes and market dynamics, its financial health and strategic positioning remain under close observation by market participants.
