The Haryana Excise & Taxation Department has announced that Haryana ranked first among all Indian states in State GST collection growth for May 2026, recording a remarkable 22% increase compared to May of the previous year, significantly exceeding the national average growth of 6%. Haryana’s net State GST collection after settlement reached ₹4,456 crore, reflecting an increase of ₹807 crore over the corresponding period last year. The state also secured the top position in cumulative GST revenue growth during the first two months of FY 2026-27, achieving a 40% increase against the national average of 23%. This consistent performance follows Haryana’s leading growth rate of 22% during FY 2025-26. The government attributed the strong revenue growth to a robust state economy, efficient tax administration, data analytics-driven enforcement, action against fake taxpayers, improved compliance measures, and anti-leakage initiatives. Additionally, taxpayer convenience has been enhanced through the dispatch of GST notices and summary orders via registered and speed post.

Haryana continues its impressive growth GST collection

The State of Haryana has secured 1st rank among all the States in the country in terms of growth rate in State GST Collections for the month of May 2026, recording a growth rate of 22%, vis-a-vis May 2075. The national average it the state CST collections for the month of May, 2076 remained 6%. Haryana is followed by Meghalaya (19%), Karnataka (17%) and Gujarat (16%). Haryana’s net State GST (post-settlement) collection for month of May is Rs. 4456 cr., which is Rs. 807 cr. higher than collection for May of previous year (Rs. 3649 cr.).

Haryana also stands first in the cumulative growth rate of state GST revenue amongst all States in the first two months of Financial Year 2026-27, recording a growth rate of 40% over the corresponding period of the previous financial year. The average national growth of state GST revenue during first two months of the current financial year is 23%.

The State of Haryana is persistently recording high growth in State GST revenue. The State also recorded highest growth rate in the previous financial year i.e. 2025-26 wherein it recorded a growth rate of 22% in the state GST revenue against national average of 6%.

The consistent high growth in state GST revenue can be attributed to the growing economy of the State and efficient tax administration.

The Department continues to take initiatives for data analytics based enforcement, intensified drive against fake taxpayers, enhancing compliances and various measures for plugging leakages.

The Department strives to take steps for conveniences of taxpayers to make tax administration more business friendly. In pursuance of the announcement made by the Hon’ble CM in his budget speech for FY 2026-27, the Department has started communicating show cause notices and summary orders by registered/ speed post as well, in addition to making them available on the portal, for the convenience of the taxpayers.
