Central Board of Excise and Customs has introduced “Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax” (ACES) to improve tax-payer services. ACES is a centralized web based application which enables the assesses to electronically interface with the department. It aims to reduce paperwork, manual interface, transaction costs and increase accountability, efficiency and transparency.
ACES stands for Automation of Central Excise and Service Tax. It is a centralized, web based software application which automates various processes of Central Excise and Service Tax for Assessees and Department, and gives complete end to end solution. Any Assessee can register with Department using ACES application, can file tax return, claims & intimations, track its status and get online messages.
This new service is a new centralised web based software application of CBEC which provides us an online electronic interface with the department. ACES aims to reduce paperwork, visits to the department and transaction costs while increasing accountability, responsiveness, efficiency and transparency in indirect tax administration.
The Department has started sending Emails to all the existing Assessees as “Central Board of Excise & Customs has developed a new software application called Automation of Central Excise & Service Tax (ACES) to do on-line transactions with the Central Excise & Service Tax departments i.e. filing your Central Excise/ Service Tax returns, claims and intimations etc.
