Sukanya Samriddhi Account
We forward herewith a copy of the Government of India Notification No. G.S.R.863(E) dated December 02, 2014 regarding the Sukanya Samriddhi Account for necessary action at your end. The Government of India, vide this Notification, has notified the Sukanya Samriddhi Account Rules, 2014, which came into force with effect from December 02, 2014.
2. Reporting of the Sukanya Samriddhi Account transactions i.e. receipt, payment, penalty, etc. may be directly done through the Government Account at Central Account Section, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur on daily basis like the transactions of PPF, 1968, in order to have uniformity in reporting, reconciliation and accounting.
3. The Agency banks are required to observe the rules and regulations of the Scheme, and non-observance of rules and regulations would attract penal action, including de-authorization of the branch or bank. Pecuniary liabilities, if any, arising from such non-observance shall be borne entirely by the bank.
4. You may, therefore, approach Central Account Section, Reserve Bank of India, Nagpur for necessary arrangements to report Sukanya Samriddhi Account transactions with immediate effect.
5. Specimen of account opening application form and the passbook of the Sukanya Samriddhi Account are also enclosed for ready reference and necessary action at your end.
6. The contents of this circular may be brought to the notice of the branches of your bank operating the PPF, 1968 Scheme. These instructions should also be displayed on the notice boards of your branches for information.

In Bhubaneswar, I am also contacted with some branches of SBI including main branch for opening of SSA account. All such contacted branches do not have any instructions/guidelines from their Head Office regarding opening of SSA accounts. Hence, they politely refuse to open the SSA accounts. Can GoI/RBI do some thing in this regard ?

even today on 06-MAY-2015, SBI Branch at SAIL Corporate office, Lodhi Road is denying to open SSY Account as they didn’t received any guidelines to open such account.
please any body help to resolve this issue.
manually paying this amount in Post-Office is a big Head-ache.
Today i went sbi bank for ssy a/c regarding but i have not received any information about this. I thought about india government system are make foolish the poor people very well.

But even today i.e. 20.04.2015 Banks like SBI / INDIAN BANK / SYNDICATE BANK Replies that they are not received any guidelines to open SSY Account.
How long this process will take to reach Public in Banks.

Today on 17/04/2015 I visited SBI Main branch Rishikesh Pin-249201,Uttarakhand for opening account in SUKANYA SIMRIDHI YOGNA. The bank officials denied to open such account by saying that no such scheme is available in our bank. My question is that What RBI is doing and what Ministry of Finance is doing??? Is SBI a bigger authority than RBI.

i have doubt about scheme, way don’t have accidental coverage for this scheme.
example:a farmer(35) have 2 daughter age of(6,9 )years, he ready to Jain both in d scheme and monthly each rs.2000-. he only to them no mother, brother. unexpectedly after 5 years he will death in accidentally-who run d scheme next. what is d use of middle scheme money. just saving only in case accidental coverage is there scheme run end of year.Then BETI BACHAO-BETI PADHAO 100% successively complete.

this acc can only be open from Post office for now
as of 8th april 2015, the banks are still denying to open the SSA account.. and in post offices, they are not considering the forms released by RBI. Nor the passbook provided by postoffice looks like the one shown here… everything is different. the application form , the passbook.

Today I went to state bank of India dhakuria branch Kolkata for open sukanya samridhi saving account but bank authorities stated that they have not get any circular from the head office/RBI in this regard.I am in need of open the said account at earliest because on seventh April 2015 my daughter will be of ten years.
TODAY I HAVE APPROACHED IDBI BANK & SBI AT RAIPUR IN TAITBANDH AREA. BOTH THE BANK OFFICIAL SAID THAT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN INFORMED OFFICIALY TO OPEN SUCH A/C’s. DO SUGGEST. AS I AM NOT VERY CONFIDENT TO OPEN THE A/Cs WITH POSTAL DEPT AS GETTING MATURITY AMOUNT WILL DEFINATELY DIFFICULT.
Today, I have approached Axis Bank & IOB in Velachery, Chennai. They told that they have no idea about this and they have not yet received notifications / circulars in this regard
I also enquired at SBI branches and they even dont know about it. And dont have idea whether such circular is received or not and how to open this account.
At Post office, they are very lazy and dont have clear ideas and it too difficult to open in long queues.
I hope and wish that this account could be opened online like other PPF accouts, etc.
Even i contacted one of the central bank of india branch. They told till we donot get any information about it. Good move from RBI, but how banks are not having enough information about to start.
yesterday i went sbi and canara bank to open ssy ac but they said no such account system is aviable in our bank. plz guide to open ssy a/c in bank. i m from chennai
All the rules bank does not follows of RBI rules, like in loan taking time there is no provision of behalf of security. phir bhi bank without security ke loan nahin dete has.
I have enquired with our banker in lakhimpur Pur Kheri, Uttarpradesh ( SBI, PNB, ICICI bank )for open the Same account. but unfortunately the branch manager and along with bank offical have no idea for open the account.
The Branches of the Banks were not notified. While notifying the scheme they must have mentioned that all branches of Banks authorised to open PPF accounts may open SSAs. For doing Govt business, branches must be authorized by GOI. With a small mistake on the part of GOI this has happened. On 11.3.2015 RBI has advised all Banks. Now HO of all Banks will take initiatives and they will inform all the branches who are authorized to open PPF a/cs. The pass book printing will also take some time. This all happened because the persons who prepared the scheme did not pay desired attention on this issue and public is thinking that Banks are not opening accounts.

just today I had been at SBI and ICICI branches. They denied to open SSA.
Govt. should publish in all the news papers a common notification intimating public to approach the banks listed in the circular. And should advise the people to put a complaint if any such bank denies to open the account.
I called IDBI and Saving Bank for details to open the account but the branch is saying that they dont have any details regarding the SSA account.

I am sorry to inform you today I approached to the State Bank of patiala sec-1,Noida Branch to enqire about the Sukanya Samridhi Yojna A/c, the staff of the bank bluntly denied that we don’t have facility to open such type of a/c . Bank officials are not interested in following the RBI’s guidlines and hon’ble Finance Minister of the country.
sir, till yesterday not a single bank providing details and not interested to open the A/C. Please assist how to open a A/C in any of the bank.I am from Kolkata dalhousie area.
Good initative by RBI. All commercial bank is not following the RBI guideline for opening the SSY a/c.
Still Bank is not issue guideline to open SSY to their branches.
SSY a/c information neither available to Bank satff nor Bank Manager.
