Order under Section 119 of the Income-Tax Act, 1961

On consideration of reports of dislocation of general life caused due to recent disturbances in the State of Gujarat, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, hereby extends the ‘due-date’ for filing Returns of Income from 31st August, 2015 to 7th September, 2015, in cases of Income-tax assessees in the State of Gujarat, who are liable to file their Income tax returns by 31st August, 2015.

    I want to file ITR of my client, whose permanent address is of Gujrat but currently working at Delhi. So whether his return be considered as belated return or filed within due date as date extended for Gujrat?

    It will be more better if the due date is extended for all assesses not for the state of Gujarat only, because efilling site is not not working well for last three days.

    WHY? every states are suffering from problems. In some cases much more than Gujrat. Is this another way to pay tribute to Mr.Narendra Modi?
