Please Announce the Date Extension Immediately

The 12th Version of the E-filing utility was introduced yesterday, the site was closed for two hours for maintenance the day before, all the software were not working for want of updation and the professionals are working very hard round the clock but this is a race “against the time”.

There are solid reasons for extension of date and practically there is no need to explain these reasons and the problems faced by the professionals this year.

Why there is so much delay in announcing the extension of date for filing of audit report?

Individually in every case one has the reasonable cause for delay in filing the audit report and causes are self explanatory as mentioned above but it will create a chaos – Section 271B read with section 273B of the Income Tax Act 1961.

It is already late hence there should be a prudent action from the concerned authorities to extend the date immediately without any further delay.

  1. Navansh shah says:

The utilities are changing, there are problems in utility and most importantly how can a return be uploaded before the audit report gets prepared.
It is a humble request from all the CA to CBDT to extend the date so that the audit can be conducted without any negligence due to shortage of time.

  2. CA HARIPRASAD G says:

CA IN PROFESSION ,NOW DAYS IS BECOMING NOT POSSIBLE.
OUR CLIENTS AS USUAL SUBMIT ONLY IN THE LAST MONTH OF SPETEMBER.
THERE IS NO CONTROL ON THEM BY US. IF U REFUSE,HE WILL GO TO ANOTHER CA.
DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE WE HAVE TO SUFFER A LOT.
WE WILL HAVE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS,WE CANNOT ATTEND RO CHILDREN AND FAMILY,LOT OF TENSION,.MORE ABOUT QUALITY OF AUDITS.
DONT WE NEED MINIMUM TIME TO AUDIT QUALITATIVELY?
    IF NOT FILED HEAVY PENALTIES.

SO LAW “MUST” AMENDED TO MAKE ASSESSEES FILE UN AIDITED FIN.STATEMENTS ON OR BEFORE 31ST MAY.

THEN ONLY,WE CAN DO JUSTIFICATION IN AUDIT WORK.

OFCOURSE THIS YEAR SITUATION IS DIFFERENT.

BUT TO MAKE ASSESSES NOT TO SUBMIT IN THE LAST MONTH OR JUST BEFORE ONE WEEK,
LAW MUST BE AMENDED TO MAKE THEM FILE UNAUDITED FIN.STATEMENTS ON OR BEFORE 31ST MAY.
THEN ONLY WE CAN PRACTICE WITH DIGNITY.
AMENDING LAW ALSO CREATES LOT JOB OPPORTUNITIES ALSO.
this part accounting concept will ALSO GO AWAY.
AND BUSINESS MEN WILL ALSO ACCOUNT ON DAY TO BASIS.

LET US ALL TRY FOR AMENDMENT and not begging for extension.

all the best to OUR FRATERNITY

  3. CA Anil D. Saraf says:

Though there were frequent changes in Tax Audit Report Utility, but it didn’t stop filling of Reports. With every change in utility it gets better. The work is going on in regular basis. In my opinion, to ask for extension in date of filling is not justifiable only because there were changes in utility.

The Scheme was well announced in advance. Anybody who planned properly can finish the work in time.

Hence, no requirement of extension of date of filling of TAx Audit Reports.

Be fight with the time, don’t ask for the excuses.

  4. R A Tiwari says:

This is Indian Govt. It can only become harsh on assessees and auditors only. It never realises its fault. It extend dates only for its faults that too at last moments.

There is no one to pull Govt. for its own delays and defaults.

But, friends, see who is blammable for all these faults of Govt. Whether Govt. only or We CAs also who bow down to ministers and accept what deptts. do with us. CA associations should send representations in advance, as every one know that whenever Govt. change methodology , it is problematic and due extention should be in advance.

  5. CA. MUKESH KUMAR ARORA says:

In the Democratic set up of the country, every government agency and its bosses behave in the most undemocratic way. They want to run everything under their domain by their whims and personal prejudice. This is the order of the day and the Hon’ble CBDT is no exception. But what is surprising is the attitude of the our representatives. During the voting season our mailbox was flooded with numbers of mails from the probable candidates claiming to be the true protector of our rights and prestige, but in this hour of difficulty, till now not a single message has come from any member of the council to dispel the doubts. The duty of the council does not end with providing free or subsidised software but providing true and meaningful guidance to the members whom they represent in the time of need. When the need was to tell to the Government in clear and unequivocal terms that given the circumstances and within the time it is NOT POSSIBLE complete the work maintaining the required standards, we ended up begging and praying for extention. We talked of compromising the quality and working overnight by endangering our health and mental peace. We seem to have forgotten our strength. We are instrumental in maintaining the financial discipline in the country. We have assumed the responsibility of explaining to the general public the intricacies of income tax law which has resulted in better compliance with the requirements of the law. We give assurance to the government about the accuracy of the numbers of the assessee which increase the revenue. We complete 90% of the assessment requirements while completing the tax audit report. But we are being taken as extra stuff. Every profession has recognised the ways to resist unjustice and protect their rights and prestige, but we are still at the mercy of the beaurocrates. This is the time for introspection.

  6. Ashok Patel says:

Absolutely right. Date must be extended. The less collection of revenue has nothing to do with C.A.s. Are we responsible for less revenue generation. It is the faulty policy of the government which is responsible for less revenue generation. Why we c.a. are made to suffer for that.

  7. CA Hariprasad says:

What can ” poor ” CA do ? in situations like this.
It seems no body is listening to genuine concern.
we can work with little sleep ,but what about quality?
Too much duplication of work. Instead they should have made uploading of scanned
AUDIT REPORT ie 3cb & 3CD ALONG WITH financial statements and uploading of ITR 4/ 5.
Even today also, 2 of my clients submitted books of account.I told them that i can file if possible.
1.LAW SHOULD BE AMENDED SO THAT ALL AUDITEES SHOULD FILE UNAUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS ON OR BEFORE 31ST MAY.
    OR
2.IF an assessee can not file by 30th sept, per day fee of Rs.200/- or so be made
mandatory as in case of FILING of TDS quarterly returns.

BUT I ALWAYS PREFER OPTION 1 INSTEAD OF 2.

SO THAT WE CAN DO AUDIT IN A EXPECTED WAY.

LET US TRY FOR FUTURE AMENDMENTS.

    LET US HOPE FOR BEST.

  8. Bond says:

Now we Chartered Accountants should ask for reservations for small and proprietary concerns, CAs from rural and remote area as well as for ladies on ICAI body. Because all elected chartered accountants are well equipped and live in cities hence can’t understand the problems of CAs from rural areas of India.

  9. Mudit Agrawal says:

Well after the introduction of version 12 of audit report day before yesterday i.e. on 23.09.2013 4:05 pm, there occur an error when we click the attachments to see balance sheet and profit and loss a/c, the file will not open and will show the error. This is in case of all the audit reports that have been filed in this F.Y.

  10. DEEPAK SONI says:

    Finance minister is
has done only two things one creating maximum problem with the help of his committed babus and second to collect the revenues which wasted after the whims of the Govt and on the luxuries of the politicians and bureaucrats.

  11. Himanshu Patel says:

    Agree..

ICAI & all regional CA Associations have to strongly request to CBDT for not playing with Auditors time & mind with frequent & serial changes in Utilities & Schema…

All professionals should have to request to extend date immediately…………
