Order under Section 119(1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961

The prescribed due date as per the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 139 of the Income-tax Act,1961 (‘Act’) for filing of returns of income for assessment year 2022-23 in respect of non-auditable cases is 31st July 2022. In view of closed holiday on 31st July 2022, being Sunday, it is hereby directed that ASK Centers throughout India shall remain open on 31st July 2022 during normal office hours. Further, special arrangements may also be made by way of opening additional receipt counters, wherever required, on 31st July 2022, to facilitate filing of tax returns by the taxpayers.

2. This order is issued for administrative convenience by the CBDT in exercise of powers conferred under section 119 (1) of the Income Tax Act, 1961. It may be given wide publicity.
