Sir,

Subject: Rebuttal on News Appearing in various Print Media on 30th OCTOBER 2017, reg..

Please refer to the PTI article….”Govt may miss FY 2018 Revenue collection target” appearing in leading daily newspapers, both in the print and electronic version.

2. The article goes on to quote the Chairman, CBEC as to have said — that the indirect tax collection target of 9.68 trillion will not be achieved due to disruption caused by GST. This is incorrect. The Chairman during her interview with the reporter from PTI had clearly stated that it was too early to comment about the GST revenues right now. This has been misquoted in the story.

3. You may take appropriate action to print the rebuttal immediately.

Your Faithfully,
(Hemambika R. Priya)
