Karnataka – Extension of Due dates for matters concerning Professional Tax, VAT, KTEG and Sales tax

Due to the Pandemic Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown nationwide causing difficulties to various taxpayers adhering to the provisions of tax laws.  The Karnataka Government extends certain due dates concerning payment of taxes, filing of appeals and concluding assessment of tax prescribed under the following acts:

1. Karnataka tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1976

2. Karnataka Value Added Tax Act, 2003

3. Karnataka Sales Tax Act, 1957

4. Karnataka tax on entry of goods Act, 1979

The snapshot of revised due dates are given below:

Cases concerning filing of first appeals  30 days from the date of original order. Further, extended to 180 days in the appellate authority is satisfied that there was sufficient cause for non-filing of appeal Extended to 270 days instead of earlier 180 days
Cases concerning filing of appeals to appellate tribunal 60 days from the date of original order. Further, extended to 180 days in the appellate authority is satisfied that there was sufficient cause for non-filing of appeal Extended to 270 days instead of earlier 180 days
Revisional power of the Joint Commissioner and Commissioner 4 years from the date of passing the order Extended to a further period of 6 months
Power to rectify any order passed 4 years from the date of passing the order extended to a total period of 5 years
Note: Similar extension has been granted for matters concerning Entry tax and Sales tax

    dear sir can you please provide the relevant notification or orders for extending 180 days to 270 days for preferring appeal before the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal under KVAT Law

    Sir is there any notification from Governement of Karnataka for exemption of interest and penalty under covide period from march 2020 to september 2020

    Please extend the due date for Annual Professional Tax (Business/Traders) at least 6 month from the due date i.e. 30th April 2020. Just like the Government extended the loan repayment period due to corona 19 effect.

    PROFESSIONAL TAX ANNUAL RETURNS 30TH MAY 2020, BUT WE HAVE TO GO SUBMITTING IN PORTAL HERE , ITS SERVER ISSUE, PAST 2 DAYS ,SO WE HAVE TO FILE 01ST JUNE MONTH ANY ISSUE SIR LIKE PENALITY AND INTEREST

    While karnataka nil PT return when which option select from Salary Range (Because no any employee on company payroll for the month of April.)
