Official Handle of CBEC has announced on Twitter that at 9.04 PM on 25th October 2017 that “Date for ITC-04 is being extended. Suitable notification will be issued in due course.”

ITC-04 is required to be furnished on Quarterly basis and includes Details of inputs or capital goods sent and received back from the job worker. ITC-04 is required to be submitted on or before the twenty-fifth day of the month succeeding the said quarter.

So for Quarter ending on 30th September 2017 due date to file ITC-04 was 25th October 2017 and CBEC has made an announcement to extended such date just 3 Hour before the expiry of due date.

Do CBEC justified in announcing extension at last moment when its own system was not ready for filing of ITC-04 and when offline utility for such filing was released just a day of two before the due date of filing ITC-04.

The irony is that the CBEC/Govt have not been accepting its incomplete preparedness for smooth implementation of GST which has resulted in torturing the professionals and businessmen

  2. P N PATHRUDU says:

Govt is behaving very cruelly in due dates. Govt wantso to built ROAM in one night. Govt doesn’t have respect on tax professionals. Govt should extend income tax due date to 30th November

  3. CA.Prabhakar says:

While extending they should give reason also for the extension. If it is lapse on the part of the govt silently they will extend. If the professionals cry also they wont extend. On 23rd The ICAI President had made a request to Arun Jaitley for extension of time for Tax audits upto 30th Nov. Instead of saying yes or no for the request, the CBDT is sending messages like “Most urgent, file your Tax audits returns by 31st oct, donot wait till last minute.” They want to create pressure from the assesses to the auditors. I am very much regretful and repenting why we have given opurtunity to such criminal minded people to rule us.

  4. KRISHAN KUMAR JANGRA says:

TRANSITIONAL PROVISIONS SHOULDN’T BE TIME BOUND LIKE THIS AND THE SAME SHOULD BE FILED ON OR BEFORE THE SUITABLE TIME PERIOD GIVEN IN THE STATUTE LIKE 1YEAR OR 1.5YEARS OR 6 MONTHS AS PRESCRIBED FOR DEMAND. THUS THE BOUNDATION OF 31ST OCT.,2017 BE DISPENSED WITH

  5. BABU- bangalore says:

However extending, and would have announced a week before itself. and extention of TRAN 1 filing date is also must.. We are not machines, at a time to work for BUNCH OF RETURNS and having short time, EVEN we are requesting for extention of time for 44 AB AUDIT OF INCOME TAX, but CBDT doesn’t cared for the same till time. What they will get by pressurising like this?

  6. Padmakar P Dhumal says:

Now its cumbersome to file GSTR2 and Transe 1 and Tax Audit for FY16-17 as respective Departments need to extend Due Date but its also responsibility of Govt. to create awareness of filling returns to Clients. through mails and Messages .
While giving extensions Govt should consider Social Resopnsibility towards In Diwali many Traders are busy with Sales and promotion how they can give time for Accounting..
So By considering all aspects of Indian Markets , trends and creating awareness extension should be given…Foolish decision Impact on Market then Revenue collection of Govt. it self only…

  7. CMA Ramlakhan Ahirwar (Cost Accountant) says:

The govt. should give right of Income Tax audit & other pressure giving task to other professionals , as existing professional are always blames to Govt. not fulfilling date of compliance .
if govt. have some problem than its our duty to stay with its system and co-operate .

  8. Faheem ferdous says:

it is shameful on the part of GSTN authorities to put tax payers and professionals to trouble. when they know that they are not ready with the forms and system then why are they putting deadlines and extending it . seems the have reduced GST law to ridicule

  9. P.SHANKAR says:

GSTR 2 and Trans 1 due date has to be extended in order to reduce pressure on CA’s, Tax consultants, accountants and business community , at the earliest

  10. CA ANIL TALREJA says:

i dont understand why govt dont realize the pressure on us .if they extend the date on last movement there is no use for us (phir aisa hoga kuch na kuch file kardo bad maine dekhguy jo hoga )
