Sub: Humble Representation with request to Extend Due Dates stipulated for filing Annual GST Returns i.e. GSTR9/9A/9C under the CST Law

Hon’ble Madam,

We, the members of The Punjab Accountants Association, would very humbly draw your kind attention towards the prevailing ground realities and the problems being faced by the Accountants in regard to filing of numerous Monthly/Quarterly and Annual GST and Income-tax Returns.

As already, your goodself was kind enough to extend the last date for filing non-auditable ITRs on 31st August and the auditable ITRs on 30th September, 2019, but the dates so announced got clashed with the dates of filing Annual GST Returns i.e. GSTR9 and GSTR9A, which are also due on 31st August, followed by GSTR9C. It is pertinent to mention over here that these GST and IT Returns are in addition to filing of various Monthly (GSTR3b and GSTR 1 etc.) and Quarterly Returns.

Further, it is also worth mentioning here that the utilities pertaining to these Annual Returns in terms of electronic uploading was made available only in May, 2019, whereas some or the other changes are still being made in the software by the department, even as on date the process of filing Form 9/9A is not seamless. Most of the Assesses are not able to fetch JSON files, these are showing errors, thus creating more hurdles and adding fire to the flame.

Under the above circumstances, all the professionals are facing a lot of strain, as compliance of GST and IT Returns in one go is not possible. The dates of all the Returns are approaching nearer and nearer, and we, the Accounts Professionals are being subdued from all the sides. We are under acute mental pressure.

Honorable Madam, the Accountant community is known for its hard work and entrepreneurship. We are honest towards our profession. We are helpful in increasing government revenue and number of assesses as well. We humbly request your good self to extend the date of filing of GSTR9 / 9A/9C for further at least 03 (three) months. There would not be much loss of revenue to the Government. rather it would give a fair impact to the professionals working in unorganized sector, who are at the helm of affairs. Moreover, this will be a great favor and morale booster order for the loyal Accountant community.

For this act of kindness, we shall ever pray!

    Madam
It is really difficult to adhere the last date bz of various consusions and struck in reconciliation for inputcredits.

At this crtitical time, your consideration of date extention will definitely help for perfectness in return filings

  2. Parth Shah says:

I dont understand why all representation are made for extention of due dates.

Instead o f asking for date extention, we should strongly represent for redrafting of gstr 9 and making it simple or make representation for making gstr 9 optional for small dealers.
