Regarding Issue of ‘proper officer’ under the Customs Act, 1962

Notification No. 40/2012-Customs (N.T.) In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (34) of section 2 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Board of Excise and Customs, hereby assigns the officers and above the rank of officers mentioned in Column (2) of the Table below, the functions as the proper officers in relation to the various sections of the Customs Act, 1962, given in the corresponding entry in Column (3) of the said Table:-

The Council has decided that the General Management and Communication Skills (GMCS) Programme, presently being organized for 15 days for the CA students should be organized twice during the period of articled training as under: (i) GMCS-I (15 days) – during 1st year of articled training (ii) GMCS-II (15 days) – after completion of 18 months of training but before completion of articled training

Input credit available on after sales service expenses if they form part of assessable value

The first issue by the learned A.R. is that after sales service of the vehicle is not an ‘input service’ on the ground that the service has been availed after sale of the vehicle and expenses incurred towards manufacture of the vehicle are entitled for input service credit. Tenancy Rights’ and action under SARFAESI Act, 2002?

Banks used to take advantage of the provisions of SARFAESI Act, 2002 earlier in taking possession of the ‘secured asset’ even when the tenant was in possession of the property. Absolutely, there is no difficulty in taking the possession of the ‘secured asset’ using the protection and assistance under Section 14 of the Act if the property was actually in possession of the borrower or the guarantor.
