Urban Co-operative Banks are advised to offer a ‘Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account’ which will offer following minimum common facilities to all their customers: The ‘Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account’ should be considered a normal banking service available to all. This account shall not have the requirement of any minimum balance.
Notification No. 46 /2012-Customs In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 12/2012-Customs, dated the 17th March, 2012 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, vide G.S.R. 185(E), dated the 17th March, 2012, namely: –
Notification No. 31/2012-Income Tax Central Government hereby notifies that where the variation between the arm’s length price determined under section 92C and the price at which the international transaction has actually been undertaken does not exceed five per cent of the latter, the price at which the international transaction has actually been undertaken shall be deemed to be the arm’s length price for assessment year 2012-13.
Reading of section 54EA of the Act makes it very clear that in case, the whole or any part of the net consideration of sale is invested in Specified Securities within a period of six months after the date of transfer, the deduction under section 54EA is available. The Net Consideration has been defined in Explanation to section 54EA of the Act.

SEBI Board took note of the lack of penetration of mutual fund products, inadequate distribution network, need for greater alignment of the interest of various stakeholders, regulation of distributors and issues concerning investor protection, and has approved some immediate steps as given below and has decided to develop a long term policy including financial inclusion and tax issues for mutual funds to deal with the public policy objectives of achieving sustainable growth of the mutual fund industry and mobilisation of household savings for the growth of the economy.
It is hereby clarified that any employee of a company holding shares of the company up to 0.5% of paid up share capital thereof under any scheme formulated for allotment of shares to such employees including under Employees’ Stock Option Plan or by way of qualification shares are also covered under the category of persons not having any interest in the capital of the company in terms of the Ministry’s notification GSR 534(E) dated 14-7-2011. It is reiterated that in case of term deposits with Either or Survivor or Former or Survivor mandate, banks are permitted to allow premature withdrawal of the deposit by the surviving joint depositor on the death of the other, only if, there is a joint mandate from the joint depositors to this effect.
NOTIFICATION NO. 75/2012-CUSTOMS (N.T.), rate of exchange of conversion of each of the foreign currency into Indian currency or vice versa shall, with effect from 17th August, 2012 be the rate mentioned against it in the corresponding entry in column (3) thereof, for the purpose of the said section, relating to imported and export goods.
