The Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Textiles, Shri Anand Sharma has said that he will recommend duty draw back on cotton yarn exports to Finance Ministry w.e.f. 1st April 2011. On cotton exports he said ‘comprehensive view will be taken on cotton exports after an inter-ministerial consultation over next few days and a close watch will be maintained on cotton arrival data, maintained by Cotton Advisory Board (CAB), whose meeting is scheduled for August.’ He was speaking after taking stock of the Textiles Industry at a stakeholder’s consultations with Industry here today. It was a comprehensive review of key stakeholders of textiles industry, including the cotton industry, yarn industry and apparel producers.

With a view to regulate the profession of Company Secretaries and in terms of the powers vested, the Council is thus authorised to issue these guidelines for Peer Review. These guidelines serve as a mechanism intended to further enhance the quality of professional work of Practising Company Secretaries over a period of time, thereby ensuring that the profession of Company Secretaries continues to serve the society in the manner envisaged.
In view of the closure of banks on account of half yearly closing on 30th September, 2011, the last date for registration for Common Proficiency Course (CPC) shall be 5th October, 2011 for being eligible to appear in the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to be held in December, 2011.
The Annual Membership fee and Certificate of Practice fee for the year 2011-12 became due for payment w.e.f. 1st April, 2011. The last date for payment of annual membership fee was 30th June, 2011 which has now been extended upto 31st August, 2011. Members who are yet to pay the fees are requested to pay the fee so as to reach the Institute latest by 31st August, 2011.
The next Professional Competence Course (PCC), Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and Final Examinations of the Institute will be held from 1st November, 2011 to 17th November, 2011 at the following centres . The last dates for receipt of application forms are 30th August, 2011 (without late fee) and 6th September, 2011 (with late fee of Rs. 500/-). Applications for admission to Professional Competence Course (PCC) Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and Final Examinations are required to be made either online at http://icaiexam.icai.org or in the prescribed forms which are priced at Rs. 500/- per form for PCC, IPCC & Final candidates.

The scope of the scheme includes awareness, early intervention, treatment and rehabilitation to ensure reintegration of the addicts into the social mainstream.
