Notification No. 16/2009-CUSTOMS Provided that the authorizations issued on the basis of self declaration where Standard Input Output Norms are not fixed, shall also be valid for import of inputs required for the manufacture of export products provided the authorization holder shall prove to the satisfaction of the jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of Customs or Deputy Commissioner of Customs, as the case may be, that an application in Aayat Niryat form along with documents specified therein has been submitted to the Director General of Foreign Trade, in terms of para 4.7 of the Hand Book of Procedure (Volume I) of Foreign Trade Policy before making the first shipment

Citizens can use the Right To Information route to get even certified copies of court papers

This is one problem litigants across the country face when they try to procure certified copies of court orders. Their applications get stuck in red tape and they have to wait for months to get the copies. In many cases, officials summarily refuse to give the papers, saying the matter is sub-judice.But an order passed by the Central Information Commission (CIC) may bring relief to litigants; it said citizens can use the Right To Information route to get even certified copies of court papers.

There is a difference between dismissal of a Special Leave Petition and dismissal of an Appeal. While the dismissal of a SLP does not result in merger of the judgment of the High Court with that of the Supreme Court and there is no affirmation, the dismissal of an Appeal results in an affirmation and merger of the order of the High Court into that of the Supreme Court.
