In terms of Handbook of Procedure Vol I 2004-2009 (RE 11.04.2008), the application for claiming interest has to be filed in the prescribed Aayat Niryat form within a period of 90 days after receipt of cheque for the main claim. The said AN form was released under Public Notice No. 10 (RE-2008)/2004-2009, dated 29th April, 2008.
In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) read with sub-rules (1) and (2) of rule 3 of the Central Excise Rules, 2002, the Central Board of Excise and Customs appoints the officers of Directorate General of Audit, Customs and Central Excise, specified in column (2) of the table below as Central Excise Officers and invests them with all the powers of Central Excise Officers specified in column.
Notification No. 28/2008-Service Tax In exercise of the powers conferred of section 101 of the Finance Act, 2008 (18 of 2008), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement. – (1) These rules may be called the Dispute Resolution Scheme Rules, 2008. (2) They shall come into force on the 1st day of July, 2008.

The annual ceiling for import of Sandal Wood, in terms of Para 2 of the aforesaid Policy Circular may be read as 4795 Metric Tonnes.
Whenever a ban/restriction is imposed on export of any product, export obligation period in respect of EPCG authorizations already issued prior to imposition of ban of such export products, would stand automatically extended for a period equivalent to the duration of ban, without any composition fee and exporter would not be required to fulfill average E.O. as well for the ban period.
In exercise of power conferred under paragraph 2.4 of the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-2009, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendments in the existing entries at Sr.No.21 and 27 in Appendix-I (List of Regional Authorities and their jurisdiction) of the Handbook of Procedure.
