SEBI circular on Quarterly Reporting by Foreign Venture Capital Investors (FVCI)

Format for the quarterly report on venture capital activity to be submitted by Foreign Venture Capital Investors has been revised as per enclosed Annexure. In accordance with Regulation 13 (1) of SEBI (Foreign Venture Capital Investors) Regulations, 2000, all Foreign Venture Capital Investors are directed to submit the report on venture capital activity to SEBI complete in all respects in the new format with effect from the quarter ended 31st March, 2010.

Custom duty notification amending principal notification No. 67/2006-Customs, dated the 30th June, 2006

For the purposes of this exemption, “Crude palm oil” means fixed vegetable oils, fluid or solid, obtained by pressure, if they have undergone no processing other than decantation, centrifugation or filtration, provided that, in order to separate the oils from solid particles only mechanical force, such as gravity, pressure or centrifugal force, has been employed, excluding any absorption filtering process, fractionalization or any other physical or chemical process. ..

Where fair market value of the capital asset under transfer is less than the valuation as per Stamp value Act

Where fair market value of the capital asset under transfer is less than the valuation as per SVA and such valuation as per SVA becomes final under Stamp Duty Act then the assessee is left with no choice and has to pay tax on the notional sale consideration on the valuation as per SVA.

Exemption to taxable services referred to in section 65(105)(zzzza), in relation to execution of a works contract related to canals

exempts the taxable service referred to in sub-clause (zzzza) of clause (105) of section 65 of the said Act, in relation to execution of a works contract in respect of canals, other than those primarily used for the purposes of commerce or industry, from the whole of service tax leviable thereon under section 66 of the said Act.
