Draft National Policy on Information Technology 2011 Released by Shri Sibal

Shri Kapil Sibal, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology released the Draft National Policy on Information Technology, 2011 here today. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Sibal said that Information Technology is a key driver of an increasingly knowledge based global economy, and given its current global position in the IT and ITES sector, India is well positioned to enhance and leverage its existing IT capabilities for a leadership role.

New Internet rules – Govt asks why critics were silent on draft

Under flak for the new Internet rules which are being interpreted as an attack on privacy of a user, the government while clarifying the rules questioned the why critics were silent when the draft rules were opened for public opinion. R Chandrashekhar, Secretary in the Department of Information Technology, in an interaction with PTI said views from all stakeholders were taken and the best practices prevalent globally were incorporated in the new rules.

Gujarat not ready for implementation of GST

Though the Goods and Services Tax (GST) bill has been tabled in the Lok Sabha, the Gujarat government today said in the state Assembly that it was not ready to implement it. Minister of State for Industries, Saurabh Patel, told the House that state government was not prepared to implement GST as it would take away state's autonomy in taxation and inflict revenue-loss of over Rs 3,000 crore.

Revision in Course Fee for ERP Courses on SAP Financials

Revision in Course Fee for (a) SAP Financials - Financial Accounting and (b) SAP Financials - Management Accounting. M/s. SAP India Pvt. Ltd. has revised its course fee for (a) SAP Financials - Financial Accounting and (b) SAP Financials - Management Accounting courses from Rs.1,20,000/- (plus applicable taxes) to Rs.1,40,000/- (plus applicable taxes) with effect from January 1, 2010 respectively.

Income tax department unearthed undisclosed income of 35 crore in Rajasthan

An Information Technology (IT) Education and Multilevel Marketing group has surrendered undisclosed income of more than Rs 35 crore, before the Income Tax Department for taxation. The disclosure, biggest ever in Rajasthan, was made during the course of raids and survey conducted by the departmental sleuths at the group premises here and in Jhunjhunu town.
