Accounting regulator, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to allow officials of the Indian Audits and Accounts Service (IA&AS)—the stream of civil servants who audit state-run companies—acquire the chartered accountancy (CA) qualification in less than the usual time. Accounting regulator Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has allowed Indian students of chartered accountancy to undergo their mandatory three-year training programme outside India. This means that even ICAI members working with a local firm outside India would be entitled to train chartered accountancy students. Earlier, CA students had to undertake the training programme within India. This also posed a problem for students settled abroad. Full Article

New Delhi: Accounting regulator, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), is planning to introduce a three-month mandatory training course for its students who pass the chartered accountancy and accounting technician examination every year. This would mean that a student after qualifying three year chartered accountancy course and one year accounting technician course will have to undergo an additional three months training programme.
