SEBI ask mutual funds to disclose risk in bold letters in Advertisement Code

The market regulator SEBI on Monday asked mutual fund companies to make all the disclosures about market risks involved in the products more prominent in their communication. "To make these statements more prominent, it is advised that the disclosures as stated in the clauses 10, 13 and 14 of schedule VI of SEBI (Mutual Funds) Regulations of 1996 on Advertisement Code shall be printed in bold," the regulator said in a circular here today.

TDS rates changed for rent and contracts with effect from October 01, 2009

TDS rates in case of Section 194-C and 194-I gets simplified this year. With several deductors requesting the department to ease the rates in these cases, department has finally take a call to streamline these rates.Contract Payments:Earlier, contract payments were attracting 2% TDS rate. If such contract is an advertisement contract then it was charged at 1%. Also all sub contracts were charged at 1% TDS rate.

IT department facing criticism for showing national flag in its advertisement

A Mumbai-based social worker has threatened to press charges against the I-T department for placing ads in various newspapers, which allegedly disrespect the national flag.
