AMENDMENT IN SEBI (FOREIGN INSTITUTIONAL INVESTORS) REGULATIONS, 1995
SEBI (Foreign Institutional Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2011 – Amendment in regulation 15
NOTIFICATION NO. LAD-NRO/GN/2011-12/06/13995, DATED 2-5-2011
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), the Board hereby makes the following Regulations to further amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995, namely:—
1. These Regulations may be called the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) (Amendment) Regulations, 2011.
2. They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
3. In the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Foreign Institutional Investors) Regulations, 1995—
(i) in regulation 15, after sub-regulation (7) the following shall be inserted; namely—
“(7A) in cases where the Government of India enters into agreements or treaties with other sovereign Governments and where such agreements or treaties specifically recognize certain entities to be distinct and separate, the Board may, during the validity of such agreements or treaties, recognize them as such, subject to conditions as may be specified by it.”
