How to verify correctness of TDS Certificate (Form 16A)
NSDL has recently started a online facility by which deductee can verify the correctness of TDS Certificate (Form 16A) issued by the deductor. To know the correctness deductee must have the following details or should have a copy of TDS certificate issued by the deductor as information from the same need to be filled in online verification form to verify correctness of TDS Certificate (Form 16A) issued by the deductor.

HOW TO GET 6 DIGIT TDS CERTIFICATE NO. OR WHERE TO GET
The TDS Certificate number will(must) be mentioned in the Form 16A given by the deductor
Kindly advise action against the customer refusingto provide (1) Form 16A and (2) 6-Digit Certificate No reqd for verification of Form 16A. Form 16A given to us does not have this 6-Digit Certificate No.
Our income tax officer has asked our customer to verify Form 16A submitted by us in respect of TDS collected in March10; before giving us refund cheque. Is ITO seeking 6-digit certificate number from the customer?
