Few months back I used Form 16 generator provided in this site.

Please make an Excel file like the one in this site. (One should be online to work with it. It is meant for Central Govt staff only)

How much is the I.T.exemption given to the Children Education Allowance(CEA) which we get for your school-going-children upto 12th STD? Is is Rs.100/month/child? Kindly clarify. Kindly mention about the latest G.O. in this regard. Thanks.

  • Dr R Kapur wrote on 4 March, 2012, 18:56

This is a good calculator. The year Lable needs to be changed manually.  Also, EPF rate needs to be changed where the rate is 17% in place of usual 12% of the basic pay.

There is an error in working the taxable HRA. The formula should be HRA received + 10% of salary ( because this is written as minus in the example). Your formula shows HRA – 10% of salary where two minus signs cancel each other and a higher taxable HRA figure is seen. Surely the taxable HRA cannot be higher than the actual HRA recd.

  • amit agarwal wrote on 12 March, 2012, 16:39

In HRA exemption, you are showing 50% only for Delhi, but it is applicable for metropolitan cities. including Mumbai, Chennai & Kolkata.
