No Commission to Post Office Agents on PPF, SCSS & reduced in other Schemes

Decisions on the recommendations of the Committee for Comprehensive Review of National Small Savings Fund (NSSF) by finance ministry in repsect of commission to be paid to post office agents .
Commission to Post Office Agents
(i) Payment of commission on PPF schemes (1%) and Senior Citizens Savings Scheme (0.5%) will be discontinued.
(ii) Agency commission under all other schemes (except MPKBY agents) will be reduced from existing 1% to 0.5%.
(iii) Commission at existing rate of 4% will continue for Mahila Pradhan Kshetriya Bachat Yojana (MPKBY) agents.
(iv) Incentives, if any, paid by the State/UT Governments will be reduced from the commission paid by the Central Government.
Notification for effective date for these are expected very soon.

Discontinued PPF & SCSS Agent commission :-
Government discontinued PPF & SCSS commission and cut in other scheme. They can generate new unemployment. Which parson work with only as a small savings agent, how he earn for his family. Government discontinued and cut of commission so many agent’s family earning effected. Government paid more interest from agent’s commission. As a Gopinath Committee, the agents were paid around Rs 2,400 crore commissions in 2010-11. (Which is again service provide by agent not a free to agent).
Agents commission should have not been discontinued instead it should have been reduced to such a level that it is not shared by agent with the investor. Now when there is no commision paid to agent, individual has to go himself to bank/PO for any job like depositing or withdrawing. In case there is some commission paid to agent, the services of agent can be availed. Now in case individual wants to avail the services of the agent, he has to pay for these services.

THE ABOLITION OF COMMISSION WILL NOT ONLY CREATE UNEMPLOYMENT LAKHS OF AGENTS THROUGHOUT INDIA, IT WILL RUIN THE FAMILY OF THE AGENTS AND THE PERSONS WORKING WITH THEM. THE GOVT HAS NOT INCREASED THE PPF INTEREST,INSTEAD IT HAS GIVEN THE COMMISSION’S PORTION TO THE CLIENTS AND BALANCE 40 PS.IS NET EARNING OF GOVT.
KEEPING IN VIEW THE GOVT SHOULD NOT ABOLISH THE COMMISSION OF PPF/SCSS AGENTS.IT SHOULD BE RETAINED AS IT WAS PREVIOUSLY.satish minocha

We small savings agent fight in way of ‘ANNA Hazare’. In anywhere in election, all agents and there family vote against party and allied party who stop our earning. I request uttar Pradesh agent to campaign again congress and allied party who cut and canceled our commission, otherwise after some time they reduce or cancel commission in Requiring Deposit Scheme. Now a days Rahul Gandhi in U.P., in his meeting raise this issue. When his candidate came in your house for vote , take his confirmation in writing that when he elected he raise this issue in parliament then after give vote. This is best way to give our message to rulings party.

if ppf commissin will stop it impect on agent hevily. i hope that central goverment will think and give at least .75% or .50% so one can survive for his/her income. i request that it is bread & butter for agent like us so goverment give some relif for us.

it is injustice that ppf commission discontinued bcz this account is of 15 yrs & investors require services, u know without commission we cant serve.

It is unreasoable to imagine that without cancelling the ppf agency why the govt has discontinued ppf agency commission. please reconsider and also give rationale behind this commission cut. who will now seve the people who are in far away places. how they will come and deposit , withdraw- NN prabhu, ppf agent, Kundapura since 1988

Ashamed of the decision taken by the Ministry of Finance. Instead of increasing the commission or retaining the same rate they have reduced the commission rate of interest. or stopped the commission. As mentioned by Gopinath Committee, the agents were paid around Rs 2,400 crore commissions in 2010-11. This committee should know that there is a Hard work of all the Agents behind the investments. The agents have to search the investors and have to convince them. The more commission paid means more people are attracted and convinced by the Agents for investment. This proves that Govt.. is not in need of money from the investor and instead they are encouraging the Private companies to invest in their company. This Govt. instead of solving the unemployment problems they are creating the unemployment. Now the Govt. should think that how the families will run and manage their daily bread. All the Agents of India should come forward and fight for our right. UNITED WE STAND AND DIVIDED WE FALL.
